Job Description
POSITION PURPOSE:
The Corporate Controller is a senior finance leader and key partner to the CFO with companywide responsibility. This role provides leadership for the accounting team with a strong focus on developing and guiding business unit controllers across the organization. This role ensures consistent financial reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance with GAAP, while partnering with operations and executive leadership to improve financial discipline, forecasting, and performance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of accuracy, efficiency, and compliance
- Oversee and participate in the preparation of consolidated financial statements
- Review all internal financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses to ensure conformance to professional accounting standards and best practices in accordance with GAAP
- Manage daily accounting operations, including daily banking, and accounts payable.
- Provide functional leadership to business unit controllers, ensuring accurate reporting, strong controls, and timely closes.
- Drive budgeting and forecasting processes in partnership with business unit controllers and senior leadership.
- Manage banking relationships and support cash flow forecasting.
- Monitor lender compliance, covenants, and lender reporting.
- Support financing activities, including debt facilities, renewals, and lending reporting.
- Coordinate annual audit and serve as primary point of contact with external auditors
- Maintain and continuously improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Ensure the integrity of financial systems and data
- Lead accounting system enhancements and process automation initiatives
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of 10 years in direct people management role, responsible for performance, coaching, and development of accounting staff.
- Organized with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Leadership skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA or appropriate corporate experience preferred.
