Westhaven, a senior care community, soon to be managed by Cassia, is hiring a Culinary Assistants to join our team in Boone, IA. This is a great opportunity for those seeking entry-level work or wanting to learn and grow in a healthcare setting. Whether you are beginning your healthcare journey or bringing valuable experience, at Westhaven you will feel appreciated, supported, and empowered to grow.As a Culinary Assistant at Westhaven, you will gain valuable knowledge and experience by serving our residents, employees, and family members’ meals. Our Dietary Department is a great group to work with and are valued by the staff and residents alike. Position Type: Part-Time working varying hours including weekendsShifts Available:Days 6:00 AM - 2:00 PMEvenings 4:00 PM - 8:00 PMLocation: 112 W 4th St, Boone, IA 50036

Culinary Assistant Responsibilities:

Provide excellent customer service to residents, staff, and families.
Work within the department to provide quality and nutritious meals and service to residents.
Assist in maintaining a clean and sanitary dietary department.
Wash dishes and clean the kitchen and dining rooms.
Assist residents, employees, and guests with a broad range of dietary needs.
Complete additional tasks as needed.

Culinary Assistant Qualifications:

Prior serving/ dining experience preferred, but not required. We Will Train!
Light baking experience required.
Must be 18+ years of age.
Ability to stand for length of shift and lift up to 40 pounds.
Strong communication skills to interact with residents and staff.
Compassionate, positive attitude and team player.
Selected candidates will be required to pass a background check
