I. JOB DESCRIPTION

Department: Maintenance

Location: NC / NV / TX

Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor

II. STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

To keep assigned building interiors clean and orderly; to perform variety of custodial and minor building maintenance duties as assigned; and to do related work as required. Assigned to Durham Manufacturing facility.

III. RESPONSIBILITY FOR WORK OF OTHERS

None

IV. BUSINESS COMMUNICATION

Must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers and managers.

V. SUPERVISION REQUIRED

Limited supervision.

  • EDUCATION REQUIRED

High School Diploma or Equivalent.

  • TRAINING AND SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

Must have thorough knowledge of the methods, materials and equipment used in janitorial and minor building maintenance work. Must have the ability to perform variety of manual tasks; follow oral and written directions; plan and complete assigned duties on a regular schedule; and maintain good working relationships with others.

VIII. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

One year experience in janitorial or light building maintenance; or, combination of training, education, and experience that is equivalent to the employment standard listed above and that provides the required knowledge and abilities.

  • SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Sweeps, scrubs and mops floors.
  • Strips, waxes, buffs and seals floors as directed.
  • Vacuums and cleans rugs.
  • Cleans bathrooms, walls, fountains, windows and replenishes supplies.
  • Empties trash bins for all manufacturing departments and keeps are areas clear and clean.
  • Reports necessary repairs to supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but hearing protection may be required depending on the department where the employee is assigned.
