Job Description
Department: Staunton Clinic
Work Hours: Mon-Friday; may include some evening hours
Manages the reception area ensuring clients are greeted and the environment is monitored. Maintains and leverages a basic understanding of insurance information/verification required to facilitate the billing process. Skilled and proficient in managing financial transactions. Provides confidential secretarial support to the department management team and clinicians. Implements appropriate safety protocol according to established procedures. Ensures the accurate entry of information into systems of record. Resolves routine questions and problems and seeks guidance from others when appropriate. Understands and applies HIPAA standards.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent. Three years' experience in a health care setting within a hospital, physician's office, or clinic. Command of secretarial/support practices and skills, office equipment and multi-line phone system. Experience with client registration, scheduling, and financial transactions. Basic understanding of health insurance plans, including coverage limitations and managed care authorizations,
Preferred
Associate Degree in Secretarial Science or Business. Experience working in a Behavioral Health environment. Demonstrated competency in all cash procedures, receipt of payments, data entry and reconciling.
