Job Description

Island Health is looking for an experienced Physical Therapy Assistant for our Rehabilitation Services department at our hospital in Anacortes, WA.

Work Schedule:

  • 1.0 FTE / 40 hours weekly
  • Day Shift


Salary Range: $25.08 - $37.62

 Physical Therapy Assistant Job Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and can identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs.
  • Assumes responsibilities of a Physical Therapy Assistant by providing direct patient care under the indirect supervision of a physical therapist from infancy through adults.
  • Works under general clinical direction of the Physical Therapist but makes judgments regarding re-assessment of patients and development of appropriate patient treatment. Makes decisions as to when the Physical Therapists' advice or special attention is required.
  • Performs prescribed treatments of outpatients and inpatients as developed by a staff physical therapist.
  • Participates in communication and problem solving with patient/significant other, physicians, staff from other disciplines, and staff within the department.
  • Documents the patient's treatment record after each physical therapy treatment according to established standards.

Job Requirements:

  • Graduate of certified Physical Therapy Assistant program
  • Active Physical Therapy Assistant license issued by the Washington DOH
  • Active BLS Certification
