Job Description

Peak Utility Services Group is an integrated group of engineering and construction companies serving the Electric, Natural Gas and Telecommunications industry.  We provide a full suite of engineering, construction, operations, and maintenance services including repair, replacement, maintenance, and installation of natural gas, telecommunications, and electric infrastructure through five operating subsidiaries: Track Utilities, SiteWise, Kelly Cable, Riley Brothers and Superior Pipeline Services.

Position Title: Dump Truck Driver

Essential Functions:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Drives commercial vehicles equipped to transport a variety of materials from the job site to the yard as well as assists the crew. 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Assists crew leader in construction, reconstruction, and maintenance work
  • Assists equipment operators by swamping, hand digging and locating underground obstructions
  • Works with specialized equipment including jackhammers, rotary drills, power actuated fasteners and other industry tools
  • Signals equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials
  • Works safely around backhoes, excavators, trenchers, and dump truck
  • Cleans and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards
  • Maintains paperwork during the day including DVIR and driver’s logbook
  • Ensures the truck has current licenses, tags, permits, and proof of insurance


Success Factors:

  • Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, often under adverse climatic conditions.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs multiple times during a work shift
  • Ability to climb, dig, work in tight spaces, on uneven surfaces, walking, stooping, and kneeling
  • Ability to understand and follow specific oral and written instructions
  • Ability to work well independently and as a part of a team with co-workers
  • Ability to pass motor vehicle, criminal background check, and comply with drug-free workplace policy
  • English usage sufficient to keep records, place orders, and prepare simple narrative reports
  • Willingness and ability to learn additional skills


Experience and Education:

  • One (1+) plus years experience working in construction.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year to year basis.
  • A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A or B is required
  • Candidates must pass Motor Vehicle Record (MVR check, a Department of Transportation (DOT) regulated physical as a requirement of the job and pass a pre-employment drug screen
