A Brief Overview

Responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Avera's long-term care operations (including skilled nursing facilities, assisted living, and independent living), including strategic planning, quality assurance, financial management, clinical operations, and regulatory compliance, ensuring high-quality care delivery to residents while aligning with Avera's overall healthcare strategy. Collaborates under shared accountability model to ensure LTC operations meets the needs of the regional continuum of care. Must be willing to travel to other Avera Long-Term care facilities.

What you will do

  • Provide leadership to Avera long term care facilities, including assisted living and independent living, in accordance with the mission and philosophy of Avera.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive long-term care strategy to achieve best practice performance aligned with Avera's vision and goals.
  • Collaborate with each local leadership team (regional facility or non-regional facility) under shared accountability model to ensure LTC operations meet the needs of the regional continuum of care.
  • Ensure high-quality patient care delivery across all long-term care facilities, adhering to clinical standards and best practices.
  • Monitor and evaluate clinical outcomes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes.
  • Collaborate with medical directors and clinical leadership teams to optimize care delivery.
  • Develop and manage the long-term care budget, ensuring operational efficiency and profitability.
  • Monitor financial performance against budget and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Ensure all long-term care facilities comply with relevant state and federal regulations, including CMS guidelines.
  • Foster a positive work environment and promote staff engagement and retention across long-term care facilities.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, developing, training, and retaining employees; planning, assigning, and leading work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Essential Qualifications

The individual must be able to work the hours specified. Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

  • Bachelor's in Business, Nursing or related field
  • Prior long-term care administrator experience.

Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

  • Master's
  • Multi-facility leadership experience for long-term care, assisted living and/or independent living.
