High School Special Education Teacher

Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated High School Special Education Teacher to join our team. As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for providing individualized instruction and support to students with special needs in a high school setting.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
• Provide direct instruction to students in a variety of subjects, including math, science, English, and social studies
• Modify curriculum and instructional materials to meet the needs of individual students
• Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure that students with special needs are included in the general education curriculum to the greatest extent possible
• Monitor and assess student progress, and adjust instruction as needed
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and needs
• Attend and participate in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other school meetings as required
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and attendance

Requirements

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field
• Valid Louisiana teaching certification in Special Education
• Experience working with high school students with special needs
• Knowledge of special education laws and regulations
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and school staff
• Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude
