Job Description

100% Front Desk Receptionist

• Serve as the first point of contact for visitors, students, faculty, and staff at the Mathematics Department office.
• Provide accurate information and direct individuals to appropriate department personnel, campus resources and offices.
• Answer incoming calls and assist with inquiries.
• Sort incoming mail for the building and place in appropriate mailboxes.
• Collect and retrieve homework for graders.
• Collect lost and found. Contact individuals if information is available.
• Keep the copier filled with paper and assist personnel with using the copier.
• Assist office staff with tasks. Manage the front desk while office staff is at lunch.

Required Qualifications

• Must be able to work in at least a 2-hour block of time and some of the time must be between 12:00 and 1:00 pm. as indicated on application materials.
• Previous experience working with the public and/or other jobs that require using your own initiative to complete duties as indicated on application materials.

Position Requirements

During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: (1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or (2) be pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or (3) be enrolled in summer session or (4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments).
