Role and Responsibilities

Job Tasks May Include:

  • Operating a variety of wastewater and hazardous waste treatment and recovery equipment to control, prevent, and/or dispose of pollution to prescribed site requirements.
  • Monitoring machine and equipment control readings.
  • Performing preventative maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.
  • Collecting storm water, wastewater, etc., related waste samples.
  • Operating spill containment and clean up equipment.
  • Managing hazardous and non-hazardous waste storage and disposal.
  • Operate a fork-truck.
  • Performing mathematical calculations.
  • Operators must satisfactorily complete training in Department of Transportation in accordance with 49 CFR 172.704(a) (1) & (2) and Hazardous Waste Management in accordance with 40 CFR 265.16 and 262.34.
  • Training duties.
  • Performing related environmental, health, safety, maintenance, quality, continuous improvement, and production-flow job duties to support plant machinery, equipment, and manufacturing-related initiatives and programs.
  • Maintaining detailed job task documentation, reports, and records.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED with a minimum of 2 years of experience in an Environmental Health and Safety or related field; Or
  • Technical Certificate from an accredited educational institution with a minimum of 18 months of experience in an Environmental Health and Safety or related field; Or
  • Associate degree in an Environmental Health and Safety or related field from an accredited college with a minimum of 1 year of applied experience.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience in hazardous or non-hazardous water treatment operations.
  • Possesses Level II or greater Massachusetts certification
  • Knowledge of EPA state and local environmental regulations.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety rules and regulations.
  • Experience in preventative maintenance on machine equipment.
  • Experience in planning, organization and execution of task-related plans and procedures.
  • Performing basic mathematical calculations.
  • Fork-truck license.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and/or web-based management systems.
  • Experience in Lean Six Sigma fundamentals.
  • Demonstrated ability in maintaining relationships by recognizing needs and sensitivities of others and cooperating and resolving conflicts that inspire the Team in achieving objectives and deliverables.
  • Demonstrated ability in receiving guidance and supervision, following work rules, safety practices, work procedures; meeting deadlines; and punctuality and attendance standards.

Additional Notes

  • Must commit to achieving Level II or greater, MA certification within two (2) years of starting on job.
  • Successful candidate must be able to attain a fork-truck license.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
