Maintenance Tech I

Summary:

Responsible for making general repairs to buildings, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical

machinery, and equipment.

Core Functions:

Makes plumbing, electrical, and general repairs to buildings, hydraulic, pneumatic and

mechanical machinery and equipment.

Conducts fabrication maintenance.

Cuts and joins metal parts using a variety of techniques.

Welds and cuts all types of material using electric arc, oxyacetylene, or other welding

techniques in horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions.

Maintains good housekeeping of workspace.

Assists skilled workers in one or more trades by performing specific or generally

complicated duties.

Obtain a forklift operator's license and safely operate a forklift.

Maintain tools provided by the company and furnish own tools to function properly in this

classification.

Enters equipment records, data, and notes into computerized maintenance

management system.

Key Measures of Success:

Ability to use and interpret specification and prints.

Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Ability to learn all production areas.

Ability to read a tape measure, do basic mathematical calculations, and use a

calculator.

Ability to learn production operations.

Must have basic knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical machinery.

Ability and willingness to work various shifts.
