Pay Range: $59,529.60 - $89,294.40 annual compensation

Workdays & Hours: Monday- Friday 8am- 5pm; Some evening/weekend work required.

A Graphic Artist job is available with the City of Fort Worth's Communications and Public Engagement Department. This position is responsible for the execution of both digital and print design projects across departments, ensuring consistent application of brand standards, accessibility, and quality. The role involves creative problem-solving, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple concurrent assignments in a fast-paced environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree.
  • Two (2) years of increasingly responsible graphic arts or desktop publishing experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience with photography, video, and/or animation.
  • Demonstrated portfolio showcasing design capabilities across print and digital formats.
  • Keeps current with design software such as Adobe Creative Suite and Canva.

The Graphic Designer job responsibilities include:

  • Designs a wide variety of materials including flyers, brochures, newsletters, booklets, signage, mailers, social media graphics, and other creative assets for public outreach and internal communications.
  • Applies the City's brand and accessibility standards to all materials, maintaining consistency and professional quality.
  • Prepares, formats, and exports artwork for both digital and print applications, ensuring compatibility and resolution standards are met.
  • Partners with internal staff to understand project needs and develops clear, visually effective design solutions.
  • Accepts and incorporates feedback and creative direction provided by the Sr. Graphic Artist and departmental stakeholders.
  • Organizes and maintains project files in an accessible digital archive.
  • Reviews and approves Canva submissions from other departments to ensure adherence to brand standards and overall design quality prior to publication.

Sedentary Work- Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
