Job Description
Formal Education: Must be a graduate of a Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) or regionally accredited and approved School of Radiologic Technology. A four-year program is preferred.
Related Experience: Experience in the Radiologic Technology Sciences and/or area of specialization required. Demonstrates advanced skills in modality. Demonstrates leadership skills, performs tasks to aid with department improvements and maintain department for appropriate safety and superior patient experience.
Certification/Licensure: Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Must be licensed by the State of Florida to operate ionizing and non-ionizing imaging equipment according to MAQ, Joint Commission and ALARA standards. CPR/BLS in accordance to Halifax Health policies required.
Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to make independent decisions; accurate and timely assessment of patient condition and vital signs. Skills in supervision through formal or informal education is preferred. Knowledgeable in oral and written communication skills: computer fundamentals; anatomy/physiology; cross-sectional anatomy; radiographic pathology; patient monitoring and equipment; defibrillation; and other special recording/imaging equipment. Must be skilled in providing care for newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
Department is open M-F with call requirements after hours, weekends, and holidays.
