Job Description
About Capacity Path Relief:
Capacity Path Relief is a mission-driven nonprofit dedicated to helping communities recover and rebuild after disasters. With a trauma-informed, resilience-based approach, we support survivors, first responders, local agencies, and community organizations through direct services, training, and coordinated outreach. Our current focus is on recovery and long-term resilience efforts following Hurricanes Helene and Milton.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Nonprofit Project Manager to lead and coordinate post-disaster resilience and community recovery efforts in the St. Petersburg, Tampa, and Sarasota area. This role will manage the delivery of community-based resilience programming, oversee field-based resilience specialists, and serve as a liaison to local partners. The ideal candidate has experience in project management, teaching or facilitation, outreach coordination, and/or disaster response/recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement resilience-based outreach activities, workshops, and events for storm survivors, frontline responders, and community stakeholders
- Supervise and support a team of resilience specialists in the field and at events/trainings
- Build relationships with local organizations, businesses, and government agencies to coordinate community recovery efforts
- Track participation, feedback, and impact of events and services
- Create engaging group presentations using PowerPoint and other tools; support visual storytelling and trauma-informed messaging
- Collaborate with internal teams and leadership to ensure mission alignment and quality of service
- Represent Capacity Path Relief with professionalism, compassion, and cultural humility in all community engagements
- Participate in ongoing improvement efforts, including After-Action Reviews and strategy sessions
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree. This role is a great fit for someone who studies Social Work, Business, Mental Health, Counseling, Psychology, Public Health, or a related human services field OR has Certification in Health & Wellness, Coaching, Wellness Facilitation OR Resilience Training and loves to manage related programming.
- Experience coordinating programs or projects in the nonprofit, public health, social work, or disaster recovery field
- Background in trauma-informed practices, wellness facilitation, or resilience-building
- Strong written communication and group facilitation skills
- Proficiency with technology such as PowerPoint, Canva, ChatGPT, Excel.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and cultural competency when working with diverse and vulnerable populations
- Availability to travel locally within the region (Disaster Impacted Florida)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in disaster response, crisis recovery, case management, or community resilience work
- Familiarity with local systems, networks, or organizations in the greater Tampa Bay region
- Project managment training or certification
- Excellent public speaking skills
- Fast learner of new technology
- Able and ready to hop on a voicecall, make direct outreach, be in direct relationship with clients and teammates.
Benefits
Schedule & Compensation:
- Position may be full-time or part-time, depending on candidate availability and mission needs
- Compensation: $30,000 – $60,000 annually, commensurate with hours and experience (may be a part time role for the right candidate)
- Flexible work environment with field-based activities and some remote planning
