Currently, we’re seeking an Inventory Control Manager to join our Warehouse Department located in Houston, TX. The Inventory Control Manager responsibilities comprise managing, controlling as well as monitoring the activities related to inventory management. You will interact with any personnel involved in various functions like material planning, warehousing, inventory control, master scheduling, receiving, and shipping, etc., ensuring compliance with all the needs of the internal as well as external customers and the organization's facility system. The Inventory Control Manager is responsible for directing and managing the tasks related to inventory management.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for coordinating and planning the production control, inventory management, scheduling, and material planning.
- Devise ways to control inventory control procedures.
- Manage inventory levels for finished goods and raw materials. They are concerned with verifying, tracking, and reporting on inventory.
- Coordinate and direct the activities related to keeping accurate records on incoming as well as outgoing shipments and preparing the items so that they can be shipped.
- Using discretion and independent judgment for directing the activities of inventory.
- Provide the necessary leadership that is associated with building as well as maintaining a strong inventory management workforce.
- Manage and coordinate the activities of all the staff members engaged in inventory control and inventory record accuracy.
- Execute the strategic inventory plan.
- Manage and supervise the processes developed by the material management department to align with the corporate objectives.
- Lead the organization's inventory related teams and provide leadership for training and development of departmental personnel.
- Maintain inventory as required by the sales and operations planning process, customer requirements, production schedules, and corporate inventory management objectives.
- Review the current inventory positions for the raw materials, packaging materials, finished goods and provide monthly summary of the same and present it during the meeting.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Proven experience as inventory manager or similar position
- Minimum experience of 1-3 years in inventory management in a distribution center.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills in Microsoft Dynamics, Excel, and Word.
- Ability to accurately track inventory and create reports.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Able to read, write and speak both English fluently.
