Job Description
Occupational therapy assistant. A person who— (1) Meets all of the following: (i) Is licensed or otherwise regulated, if applicable, as an occupational therapy assistant by the state in which practicing, unless licensure does apply. (ii) Graduated after successful completion of an occupational therapy assistant education program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education, (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association Inc. (AOTA) or its successor organizations. (iii) Is eligible to take or successfully completed the entryâlevel certification examination for occupational therapy assistants developed and administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy, Inc.
- Licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Provides competent occupational therapy under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
- Able to lift in excess of 5 pounds.
- Able to meet physical and mental requirements for job in a fast paced, complex, acute care setting
- Able to push, bend, reach and twist to assist with patient care and equipment maintenance.
