Job Description
Deaconess Health System is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Tax Accountant to join our Finance Department. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, preparing tax filings, and supporting strategic tax planning initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of healthcare finance and nonprofit tax regulations.
- Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns, including Form 990 and related schedules.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.
- Assist with tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.
- Analyze financial data to identify tax-saving opportunities and risks.
- Collaborate with internal departments to gather necessary documentation for tax filings.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the organization.
- Support the preparation of financial statements and reports related to tax provisions.
- Assist in the development and implementation of internal controls related to tax processes.
