Job Description
Reporting to the Director of Public Relations, the Communication and Design Specialist plays a key role in advancing Gulfside Healthcare Services’ brand and outreach efforts. This position is responsible for developing and executing strategic marketing, public relations, and design initiatives to enhance community engagement, strengthen media presence to support the organization's mission. The specialist implements branding efforts, creates compelling digital and print materials, and coordinates media relations.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications required or similar field preferred.
- Minimum of two years of experience in Public Relations.
- Non-profit and/or healthcare experience preferred. Internships can replace two years of paid experience.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Working with the Director of Public Relations, the Communication and Design Specialist helps with all aspects of external and internal communications and public relations for the agency including:
- Designing and producing flyers, graphics, collateral, signage, and other external and internal needs, ensuring that all materials are consistent with the Gulfside Healthcare Services brand.
- Develop and implement strategic marketing campaigns that increase community engagement and brand awareness for Gulfside Healthcare Services.
- Strengthen media relations by proactively identifying and pitching newsworthy stories to expand Gulfside Healthcare Services’ public reach.
- Improve data-driven decision-making by utilizing analytics to measure marketing effectiveness and refine outreach strategies.
- Interviews employees, volunteers or donors as needed for stories and or newsletters as needed.
- Coordinating multiple tasks to meet production deadlines for all collateral material.
- Writing and sending press releases for appropriate Gulfside Healthcare Services events and communicating with the media in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Creating and overseeing Gulfside Healthcare Services newsletters for target audiences including the community, donors, volunteers and staff
- Assisting with Gulfside Healthcare Services digital marketing as needed, including social media, email marketing, and website revisions.
- Ensuring that appropriate, up-to-date collateral, brochures, event flyers, and more are distributed to Gulfside locations and various locations throughout the community.
- Representing Gulfside Healthcare Services at community events/health fairs, as well as working in conjunction with other departments to supply material for events when needed.
- Helping with the planning and day-of-event needs for Gulfside Healthcare Services special events.
- Stay ahead of industry trends by pursuing professional development opportunities, attending relevant conferences, and adopting emerging marketing technologies.
- Increase community engagement by actively participating in chamber meetings, networking events, and local business groups to build relationships and promote Gulfside Healthcare Services.
- Grow leadership skills by mentoring interns or junior staff in marketing, public relations, and design best practices.
- Remaining current on all related software, technology, public relations best practices and design Attends occasional workshops to enhance professional competencies.
