About the Role

In this full-time Legal Assistant position, you'll play an essential role in supporting our attorneys who represent employers, insurance carriers, third-party administrators, and self-insured corporations in the defense of workers' compensation claims.

This role offers flexibility with on-site or hybrid work options depending on your location.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Scheduling hearings, mediations, depositions, and appointments with courts and opposing counsel.

  • Drafting and editing routine correspondence related to hearings, meetings, and case updates.

  • Communicating with clients, physicians' offices, and court personnel to coordinate case activity.

  • Managing case files and maintaining accurate internal tracking of deadlines and court requirements.

  • Handling incoming client calls and inquiries with professionalism and urgency.

  • Supporting attorneys with other administrative and legal tasks as needed.

What You Bring to the Table

  • At least 2 years of legal assistant experience specifically in Workers' Compensation law.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a high-volume legal environment.

  • Experience working with case management systems (Aderant Total Office experience is a plus).

  • Strong organizational skills and a keen attention to detail.

Location

  • Merrillville or Indianapolis, Indiana- On-site or hybrid options available.
