Electrical Engineer - Transformer Design Specialist
The Opportunity
Join the Hitachi Energy team in Bland, VA, as an Electrical Engineer specializing in transformer design. How You'll Make an Impact
- Design dry type transformers in accordance with customer and industry standards.
- Apply state-of-the-art design methods and calculations.
- Collaborate with global colleagues to define and implement best design practices.
- Engage in product and process improvement projects.
- Work with cross-functional teams including marketing, production engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and quality.
- Assist and lead teams to achieve clearly defined goals.
- Penetrate new markets with optimized customer solutions.
- Document designs, algorithms, and test data thoroughly.
Your Background
- BS or MS Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in dry type transformer design.
- Strong team-building and collaborative skills.
- Customer-focused mentality with strong relationship-building abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite applications and engineering software (CAD/AUTOCAD, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe).
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities and work independently.
- Willingness to travel within the U.S. and internationally (5-10%).
- Legal authorization to work in the United States and a valid driver’s license.
