Job Description

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Supervisor, Food Services, the Food Services Technician is an active member of the Food Service team that delivers professional cleaning services consistent with the strategic vision, goals, philosophy, and direction of the department and CRHS. The Food Services Technician performs routine cleaning in the kitchen, food preparation and dining areas.

 

Basic Qualifications:

·         Education:

Requires a high school diploma or GED state certification.

·         Experience:

Requires up to three months of work-related experience, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

·         Licensure, Registrations& Certifications:

This job does not require any professional or technical licenses, registrations, or certifications.

 

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning in kitchen and dining areas following established schedules and prescribed methods and established standards. 
  • Cleans patient and cafeteria food trays. Sorts and soaks flatware and mugs. Places patient trays, cafeteria trays, flatware, mugs, glassware, and china through dishwasher. Cleans and sanitizes all food carts. Collects, washes, and sanitizes all pots, pans, and utensils.
  • Stacks clean flatware and trays on carts and delivers to appropriate production or distribution areas within Food Services.
  • Stocks dish room with chemical and cleaning supplies. Sweeps and mops dish room floors. Polishes stainless steel, countertops, shelving, and equipment, and assists in general housecleaning of kitchen.
  • Keeps Dish Return Window free of soiled trays.
  • Adheres to safety procedures when working around operating kitchen equipment.
  • Cleans all fixtures, walls, floors, tables, vents, and lights as required by established schedules and prescribed methods.
  • Performs basic floor care using dry or wet mops, floor scrubbers and vacuums. 
  • Empties trash containers follow a prescribed cycle.
  • Assists in cleaning spills that are observed or requested.
  • Maintains assigned equipment for cleanliness and has repairs made when needed.
  • Promotes teamwork daily, communicates and reports problems and concerns to the Manager.
  • Drives prepared food to established outside locations for organized delivery and by following local and federal Health Department regulations.
  • Performs other related job duties as assigned.
