LOSS PREVENTION JOB SUMMARY:

The Retail Loss Prevention Specialist holds a crucial role in upholding our company's Mission, Vision, and Values through daily activities. Representing both the organization and the Risk Management Department with professionalism and contributing to a collaborative team environment. Embrace innovation, communication, and collaboration to become the Shrink Champion, ensuring the integrity of the operation.

This position requires regular travel within NH/VT using a company car. Up to three days a week as necessary. Other work will be based out of our Pembroke, NH location. There will also be occasional company-paid overnight stays for projects, audits, etc.

Schedule: Mon-Fri 8am-5pm with occasional evening or weekend work.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Contribute to the reduction of shrink through effective auditing, educational initiatives, and clear communication.
  • Ensure strict compliance with Risk Management policies and procedures.
  • Perform comprehensive compliance audits to guarantee adherence to operational and Risk Management policies and procedures.
  • Proactively identify, resolve, and prevent Risk Management issues.
  • Exhibit self-motivation and the ability to work independently without direct supervision.
  • Identify potential areas of loss within retail and distribution center environments.
  • Conduct investigations into both internal and external causes of shrinkage.
  • Demonstrate strong decision-making skills, even in high-stress situations with minimal oversight.
  • Foster positive relationship with all constituencies including customers.
  • Utilize keen observation, critical thinking, and effective communication to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Proficiently operate and utilize cameras, recording devices, access control, intrusion systems and retail point of sale and back office software.
  • Analyze and interpret reports and data from various sources to identify potential risk concerns.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of Emergency Response Plans, including organizing training and exercises.
  • Exhibit a solid understanding of New Hampshire and Vermont Criminal Codes.
  • May perform other duties as assigned to help meet business objectives.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Ability to prioritize and shift priorities as needed.
  • Display flexibility, resilience, high motivation, and creative thinking.
  • Self-driven and capable of working independently.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Maintain heightened awareness of surroundings at all times.
  • Present a consistently professional demeanor.
  • Possess excellent organizational skills.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Willingness to travel to corporate locations, occasionally requiring overnight stays.
  • Hold a valid driver's license.
  • Uphold strict confidentiality and ethical standards.
  • Detail-oriented for accurate report writing and potential court testimony.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Able to stand for extended periods (10-12 hours/day).
  • Comfortable working in various weather conditions.
  • Adaptable to working in temperature extremes.
