Primary Objective: The Data Entry Supervisor will be responsible for performing supervisory and specialized data entry work. Internal and external contacts are many and varied. Work requires judgment and initiative and is performed under general supervision. Supervises employees to ensure data sent from customers on labels and forms are entered properly into our laboratory information management systems.
Position Duties and Scope:
The Data Entry Supervisor has the following duties:
· Accurately enter data received from customers into company database.
· Follow departmental guidelines for all data loaded.
· Modify data periodically as prescribed by customers.
· Follow instructions by supervisor.
· Follow standard operating procedures.
· Send "problem" samples to customer service for resolution.
· Contact customer (or get CSS to contact) for missing information or confirmation of suspicious information.
· Notify lab of changes to test packages, special testing requests, and/or priority testing (rush analysis).
· Efficiently process 200+ samples daily.
· Answer phones and assist customers as needed.
· Correct samples that are logged incorrectly and work with lab to ensure correct tests are performed.
· Receive, open and tray up all samples received each day.
· Effectively research reminders generated by diagnosis and fix samples if needed.
· Supervises data entry personnel; duties include hiring and performance management.
· Schedules and organizes jobs and compiles data to be coded.
· Maintains statistical, personnel and work records.
· Advises users on basic coding and simple computer programs.
· Recommends and assists in implementing new and revised departmental procedures.
· Compare data with source documents, or re-enter data in verification format to detect errors.
· Compile, sort and verify the accuracy of data before it is entered.
· Enter data received from customers accurately.
· Follow departmental guidelines for all data loaded.
· Modify data periodically as prescribed by guidelines.
· Proof the work of others within the department to ensure a quality product.
· Assist other departments including Customer Service and Sample Receipt.
· Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
· High school diploma/GED is required.
· 7+ years of laboratory experience is preferred.
Core Competencies:
· Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Proficient computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office.
· Must be able to initiate corrective action without prompting and assist co-workers whenever necessary in order to meet deadlines.
· Must be able to effectively perform duties under pressures arising from large sample volumes and short turn-around times.
· Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
· Ability to multi-task.
· The ability to learn all applicable Data Entry procedures.
· Ability to use (or learn to use) Laboratory Information Management System.

Responsibilities: · Follow all company operating procedures, standards, policies, and training to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the site. · Play an active role in the ALS safety program by correcting or reporting unsafe acts and conditions that are observed during the day to day operations to create a zero-injury work environment. · Participate in and support HSE initiatives, as required by ALS leadership. · Understand and use HSE precautions (such as but not limited to fume hoods and PPE) while working with chemicals and samples of unknown hazards. · Ensure the health and safety of staff, contractors, and/or visitors by providing appropriate leadership, due diligence, resources, training, and enforcement for all individuals onsite.

Other Requirements: · Routinely lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move heavier loads with assistance. · Must be able to sit, stand, bend, push, pull, stoop and/or crouch up to 100% of the time while performing the duties of this position. · Able to speak and hear clearly while communicating with staff, management, and clients. · Dexterity in hands and fingers to operate computer and other equipment. · Must have average vision and able to see to read reports and operate equipment. · Good punctuality and attendance. · Flexible schedule to accommodate changes in volume of work received.
