Job Description

Overall Job Summary

The Tractor Supply Distribution Center (DC) Internship Program cultivates students' professional and personal growth through exposure to day-to-day operations at our Franklin, KY DC. In just 11 weeks, you will have the opportunity to get hands-on with the operations that fuel our success, gain leadership experience, and learn firsthand about our organization and culture. The purpose of our DC Internship Program is to develop the next generation of leaders to support our DC operations serving as the first step toward becoming a DC Supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)

  • Completion of other job duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in, or recently graduated from, an accredited university at the time of the internship; rising seniors preferred
  • Must be able to relocate to and live in the Franklin, KY area for the duration of the internship
  • Completion of coursework in supply chain, distribution center operations, logistics, transportation, or general management is preferred
  • Previous internship or industry experience is a plus
  • Proficient with basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities

The ideal candidate will exhibit leadership and interpersonal skills, as well as a positive attitude, and must be willing to:

  • Learn the business through hands-on experience

  • Positively adapt to change

  • Exhibit flexibility in daily operations

  • Handle ambiguous situations

Working Conditions

  • Normal office working conditions
  • Repetitive wrist, hand or finger movement
  • Ability to work in a physical environment that is subject to temperature extremes, movement of mobile and fixed equipment, and other conditions associated with a warehouse operation
