Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
The Physical Therapist provides high-quality, evidence-based care to patients across the lifespan to restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities. This role includes performing assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and implementing therapy interventions in coordination with other clinical staff.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct comprehensive initial and follow-up physical therapy evaluations in accordance with APTA and state practice standards.
  • Develop and maintain individualized treatment plans, including short- and long-term goals, in collaboration with interdisciplinary team members, patients, and caregivers.
  • Deliver therapeutic interventions, including manual therapy, exercise prescription, mobility training, and behaviorally informed physical treatments for patients with co-occurring behavioral health needs.
  • Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed to support optimal outcomes.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, use of assistive devices, and techniques to enhance function and prevent re-injury.
  • Assist patients with the appropriate use and fitting of mobility aids such as walkers, canes, and wheelchairs.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation in accordance with RBHC policies and applicable regulations.
  • Collaborate with physicians, behavioral health providers, case managers, and other team members to ensure integrated care delivery.
  • Participate in staff meetings, case conferences, and continuing education as required.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as delegated to support the mission and goals of the Rocky Boy Health Center.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Doctorate Degree from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapy program
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience practicing as a licensed Physical Therapist.
  • Current, unrestricted Physical Therapy license in the State of Montana (or ability to obtain prior to start).
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience working with Native American populations or in a tribal healthcare setting.
  • Experience with behavioral health integration or treating patients with co-occurring physical and mental health conditions.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles and culturally responsive rehabilitation practices.
  • Certification in specialized therapy approaches (e.g., neurodevelopmental treatment, orthopedic manual therapy, etc.)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport across interdisciplinary teams and with patients from diverse backgrounds.
