Our AFL US Services team is a leader in the telecommunications industry, specializing in cutting-edge fiber optic installation and infrastructure development. We are committed to delivering high-quality services to our clients, with a focus on innovation, efficiency, and safety. As we embark on a large-scale fiber optic installation project for a new data center, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Site Superintendent to join our team.

Job Summary

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Operations to lead our Data Center Infrastructure Division to support Hyperscale clients. This role will oversee project managers, subcontractor resources, financial performance, and operational execution across all cabling projects. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in data center infrastructure, vendor management, and enterprise-scale project delivery.

Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to project managers and field teams delivering structured cabling solutions for Hyperscale environments.
  • Align operational goals with enterprise objectives, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality, scalable solutions.
  • Act as a key advisor to the Sr. Director of Data Center Enterprise Services on operational performance, risk, and growth opportunities.

Project & Resource Oversight

  • Oversee the execution of multiple concurrent projects, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Manage subcontractor relationships, including selection, performance evaluation, and compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Drive workforce planning and resource allocation to meet dynamic project demands.

Financial Management

  • Own the financial performance of the cabling operations portfolio, including forecasting, budgeting, and cost control.
  • Partner with finance and procurement teams to ensure accurate reporting and timely vendor payments.
  • Identify and implement cost optimization strategies without compromising service quality.

Operational Excellence

  • Develop and enforce operational standards, processes, and KPIs to ensure consistent execution across all projects.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, scalability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., BICSI, TIA/EIA) and customer-specific requirements.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as the primary escalation point for operational issues impacting Hyperscale customers.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, procurement, and executive leadership to drive alignment and transparency.
  • Deliver executive-level reporting on project health, financials, and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field (Master's or MBA preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience in data center operations, structured cabling, or infrastructure project management.
  • Proven leadership experience managing large teams and subcontractor networks.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing multi-million-dollar budgets.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Certifications

  • PMP, RCDD, or equivalent industry certifications.
  • Familiarity with Data Center Hyperscale customer environments and expectations.
