Must have a minimum of three years in the beauty and skincare industry with a Master Instructor License. - Keep current on trends and styles in grooming and fashion
- Must be knowledgeable of the potential outcome of improperly mixed chemicals and the consequences of their application
- Have a high regard for hygiene
- Must know the methods and procedures used in standard record-keeping, statistical compilation, and salon practices
- Promote customer service
- Demonstrate effective communication skills, both oral and written
- Perform a variety of instructional assistance, tutoring, and related support functions within the field of esthetics
- Assist students in understanding the basic fundamentals of various aspects of esthetics
- Monitor and assist with a variety of laboratory activities for students at various levels of proficiency
- Prepare, operate, maintain and demonstrate classroom and laboratory equipment and materials
- Assist students with classroom and laboratory assignments, exercises and tests
- Document student grades
- Be familiar with the rules and regulations of the Oklahoma State Board of Cosmetology and other accrediting bodies affiliated with Clary Sage
- Provide students with individualized or small group assistance, guidance and study strategies for the development and improvement of basic skills
- Explain and clarify learning activities to students
- Support student retention by reviewing individual completion of learning activities, monitoring attendance and contacting students as necessary
- Responsible for keeping inventory and purchasing supplies as needed for laboratory
- Promote Clary Sage products and other beauty related items
- Participate in continuing professional development
Management Responsibilities
- Provide the necessary leadership to facilitate continued strength and continuity in your department
- Approve all supply requests
- Ensure safety of students
- Stay on top of current trends in healthcare including HIPPA, OSHA, and the State Board of Cosmetology
- Assist in the implementation of the corporate philosophy, vision and mission into the written program objectives of your program
- Study, evaluate and recommend the adoption of textbooks, teaching aids, materials and programs to improve instruction.
- Provide instructors with counsel and assistance
- Assist in planning of educational In-services
- Attend management meetings when necessary
- Act as liaison between team and administration.
- Recommend needed changes in policy
- Assist in developing curriculum and maintaining lesson plans
- Enforce consistency with syllabus, lesson plans and other module components.
- Make instructor observations to promote professional improvement in the classroom
- Enforce professional dress code
- Prepare needed reports for administration
- Hold instructors accountable for required duties
- Make contact with the public when needed
- Maintain respect at all times for confidential information
- Interact in a positive manner with staff, students, faculty and public
- Promote good public relations by personal appearance, attitude and conversation
- Become point of contact for your program during accreditation reviews and other visits
- Continue quota of in-services, professional development and continuing education
- Serve on various committees including attendance, retention, institutional effectiveness, and any others of interest
- Assist with determining needs for your program
- Create an environment of Excellence in Customer Service toward students
