Idaho Power - located in vibrant Boise, Idaho - is looking for a Department Clerk I or II to join our Fleet team. It's an exciting time to work for Idaho Power. What does a Department Clerk I or II do for us?

A Department Clerk I or II is an entry level position. Under direct supervision, they perform routine support functions following established work procedures. Functions may include data collection, data entry, reconciliation, document processing, copying, information exchange, filing, and record-keeping. A Department Clerk II's work is generally of a critical or confidential nature and requires broad knowledge of company and/or department procedures.

A COMPETITIVE CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

Knowledge of:

  • Proper telephone etiquette and office/customer service
  • Filing systems
  • Basic operation of standard office equipment such as FAX, PC, calculator and electronic devices
  • Contract Management
  • Invoice Processing
  • Work Order Management
  • Records Coordination
  • Reconciliation
  • Database Updating

Skills in:

  • MS Office Suite applications
  • Good proofreading skills
  • Accurate Data Entry

Ability to:

  • Understand and apply basic mathematical calculations and concepts involving fractions, decimals, percentages, etc.
  • Understand and apply proper punctuation, spelling and grammar in composing basic correspondence and assisting in the preparation of documents

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Department Clerk I

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED

Experience:

  • 1-2 years of prior office experience or equivalent combination of formal education and work experience

Department Clerk II

Education:

  • High school Diploma or GED

Experience:

  • 3-4 years of related experience or equivalent combination of formal education and work experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires working at a desk/computer for extended periods of time. It requires the use of office equipment, fine motor skills including typing on the computer, dialing phones, filing paper, and working in close proximity to other people. There may be occasional lifts of no more than 25lbs. from floor. The above is a summary of the primary essential functions of the position.
