Our Teller Cashiering software is an industry-leading solution that automates and streamlines cash handling and financial management practices for Local Government. Can/Am serves clients across North America, with staff operating in the following locations: Edmonton Alberta and Denver Colorado. - 3-5 years of hands-on DevOps experience with AWS cloud infrastructure
- Strong proficiency with AWS services including EC2, RDS, S3, and CloudFormation or Terraform
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions
- Working knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, ECS/EKS)
- Experience implementing infrastructure-as-code practices
- Strong understanding of version control systems (Git) and branching strategies
- Experience with configuration management and automation tools
- Knowledge of networking concepts, including VPCs, subnets, load balancers, and security groups
- Understanding of database administration and backup/recovery procedures
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on root cause analysis
- Excellent attention to detail and documentation practices
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Experience with incident management and on-call responsibilities
- Experience supporting SaaS applications for government or regulated industries
- Knowledge of security and compliance requirements for government clients
- Experience with monitoring and alerting tools (CloudWatch, Datadog, PagerDuty, etc.)
- Scripting experience (Bash, PowerShell)
- Coding language experience (.NET)
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies
- AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, SysOps Administrator preferred)
- Establish and maintain reliable CI/CD pipelines with minimal deployment failures
- Optimize AWS infrastructure for cost-effectiveness and scalability
- Achieve high system uptime through comprehensive monitoring and proactive maintenance
- Support Product and Implementation teams with efficient deployment processes and documentation
- Implement infrastructure-as-code practices for repeatable, auditable infrastructure management
- Maintain security and compliance standards appropriate for government clients
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans
- Automate routine operational tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors
- Establish clear documentation for infrastructure, deployment procedures, and runbooks
- Implement and maintain backup strategies with regular testing of restoration procedures
- Reduce mean time to recovery (MTTR) for production incidents through effective monitoring and response procedures
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement through post-incident reviews and iterative enhancements
