Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Systems Administrator with DevOps expertise to join our dynamic team supporting a critical Government customer. This role involves managing and optimizing the customer’s application infrastructure, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability within a virtualized environment (Nutanix, VMs). The ideal candidate will be proactive, collaborative, and passionate about delivering secure and efficient systems solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Administer and maintain application servers, networks, and development/test infrastructure.
Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot application hosting services.
Monitor system performance and conduct audits to ensure data integrity and protection.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement technical solutions.
Provide technical support and guidance to end-users, resolving issues promptly.
Implement best practices for backup, disaster recovery, and system redundancy.
Stay current with industry trends in cloud computing and systems administration.

Required Education, Experience & Skills:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field (preferred).
16+ years of relevant experience in systems engineering and administration.
Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
Strong Linux System Administration skills and experience with containerization (e.g., Docker).
Familiarity with source control tools (e.g., Git, Subversion).
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
Knowledge of application and infrastructure security reviews.
Ability to diagnose and resolve networking issues.
Research and apply new technologies in object-oriented programming.
Team-oriented with strong collaboration skills.
Ability to mentor junior team members.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with infrastructure automation tools (e.g., Cisco NSO).
Familiarity with build automation tools (e.g., Maven, Jenkins).
Experience developing APIs and services using REST, SOAP.
Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Perl, Shell, Bash).
