40Job Description Summary:
Incumbent is directly responsible for the daily operations of assigned locations and imaging modalities. Actively collaborates with physicians & Marin Health Leadership to strategically develop leading edge programs for all Marin Health Imaging locations. Responsibilities include but are not limited: supervision, financial performance, quality of care, safety, policy & procedures, performance improvement and clinical operations. The Manager is responsible for all accreditation preparation related to all Radiology modalities but not limited to Title 22, 17, Joint Commission, ACR and MQSA, ensuring that necessary operational changes are instituted. Implementation of organizational objectives in alliance with MarinHealth’s strategic direction and develops and implements tactics to institute innovative care delivery systems for the patients and physicians utilizing provided services. Incumbent will Understand practice, policies, and regulations in areas of responsibility, possess a working knowledge of procedures within assigned discipline. The manager functions as a subject matter expert in Diagnostic Imaging Services.Job Requirements, Prerequisites and Essential Functions:
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
- Required ARRT Certification or Radiology Specialty equivalent IE: ARDMS, AMRIT, Certification in Nuclear Medicine or RN
- Required Bachelor’s degree in Business and/or Health Care Management related field from an accredited university
- Preferred Masters level prepared in Health Care or Business Administration.
B. EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum two (2) years recent Health Care Management engaged with:
- Budgeting; operational and Capital
- Labor Union and contract negotiation
- Capital and Strategic Planning
- Staff development and career advancement programs
- Accreditation and Licensure
- Working with inter departmental teams
- Analyzing Workflow
- Change Management and conflict resolution
C. PREREQUISITE SKILLS
Effective verbal and written communication skills. Prepares reports, records, proposals, and statistical analysis for senior administration.Leadership: coaches, facilitates and develops staff through projects that promote efficient, cost-effective care. Effectively communicates new procedures to staff. Ability to act as “mentor’ in directing staff to put into effect process improvements.Creativity: identifies problems and prescribes ideas for improvements.Able to establish utilization control measures for labor, supplies, & equipment. Manages depreciation for large capital equipment items.Able to manage institutional changes through collaborative and positive leadership skills.Respected skill for interpersonal and political conflict resolution. Knowledge of information system systems and applications. Familiar with Hospital Information Systems and departmental information systems applications. Familiar with Personal Computer applications. Uses electronic media communications devices effectively. Expertise of specialty Radiology specialty exams in assigned modalities Knowledge of specialty exams across all Diagnostic Imaging Modalities
V. LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION
- Preferred Current Certification as a Radiological Technologist in California (CRT).
- Member in good standing with American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) or Primary Discipline
- Preferred Modality Certification
- BLS Certification through AHA

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial:
Directs and manages administrative and financial functions of assigned departments, staying within budgetary allocations. Understanding and explaining variances.
Develop and monitor operational Budget
Monitor FTE and Staffing allocations
Encourages effective cost management practices.
Strategic:
Works with the Director, Marin Health Strategy and Radiologist in development of strategic capital, and planning opportunities.
Develop staff models that reflect operational needs for the organization.
Human resource Management:
Manage and document personnel records to include evaluation of staff and supervisors as needed.
Review annually Job Descriptions for all departmental personnel
Mange and record personnel records and requisite certifications
Review and understand departmental Policy and procedures and they impact Human Resource and operational activities.
Understand Union guidelines and contractual arrangement and how they impact operations
Provide counsel and guidance to staff as needed for career growth and alignment with Marin Health guiding principles.
Make daily work assignments to assure high quality imaging and patient care.
Conducts department staff meetings that encourage staff participation.
Ensures timely employee report preparation for payroll.
Ensures certifications for all Radiological Technologists who inject contract materials
Maintain robust employee recognition program
Regulatory:
Ensures compliance with licensing and regulatory standards (Federal, State, and ACR) in Mammography including assurance of accurate audit of required statistics. Manage and help implement appropriate data collection of information needed to monitor clinical, operational, and financial outcomes, as well as MQSA QA/QC standards.
Manages issues encompassed by Quality Improvement process, JCAHO, ACR and MQSA Accreditation, State licensure.
Performs annual review of all departmental policy and procedure manuals. Update information in manuals as required.
Engage with Radiation and Magnetic safety teams as needed to assure compliance throughout the organization.
Ensure prompt investigation and response to complaints and concerns.
Performance Improvement:
Develop and maintain Performance Improvement program within The Diagnostic Imaging Department.
Work with PI team at Marin Health to demonstrate and present PI initiatives and findings at prescribed intervals.
Ensures controls are enforced for the technical accuracy of patient procedures
Reviews operational KPI with Radiologists to assure Final reports are timely and accurate
Review STAT Rad TAT and accuracy with Radiologist QC and report as needed
Collaborate with Philips and Bio Medical teams to assure all PMs and yearly testing is completed on time and reported accurately
