Position Summary and Highlights:

Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, ID is hiring a Dietetic Assistant is scheduled for coverage in a Unit Host capacity to provide meal services to Nursing Units, utilizing extensive diet knowledge combined with a high level of customer service. Ensures diet compliancy and patient satisfaction through the use of CBORD and Powerchart.

What You Will Do:

Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Organizational Mission, Core Values, and Vision in behaviors, practices, policies and decisions.

• Demonstrates understanding of the patient menu and the various diets. Coaches' patients in navigating the menu, articulating appropriate substitutions within the patient menu.
• Takes meal orders from patients and enters them into CBORD.
• Delivers meals to patients and follows up to ensure the meal met the patients' needs/standards.
• Picks up soiled trays and records intakes in nursing areas where appropriate/required.
• Works as a collaborative member of the Unit Host team as well as an informal member of the Nursing team.
• Ability to learn how to effectively utilize CBORD Software; on-the-job training provided.
• Proficient in verbal and written communication in English.
• Operates, dismantles, cleans, and reassembles equipment relevant to specific work area.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Two years of relevant foodservice or hospitality experience in a healthcare setting required.
• Advanced diet knowledge required. Must successfully complete Therapeutic Diet education class and pass the Nutrition pre-test with a score of 80% or higher

Work Schedule:

This position will be scheduled for 12-hour day shift.
