Dietetic Technician Or Registered Dietician - Shawnee And Van Wert Manors.

Position Summary:

Registered Dietetic Technician assures high quality nutritional care for residents by maintaining standards of clinical practices.

Position Responsibilities of Clinical Nutrition Associate:

• Discuss problems concerning residents at high nutrition risk with Registered Dietitian
• Complete medical nutrition therapy reviews, progress notes and develop/update plans of care for new admissions, readmissions, and residents who have experienced a significant weight change, and annually for all residents
• Complete MDS assessments accurately in accordance to schedule
• Evaluate nutritional status, document status in a progress note, update and evaluate care plans for each resident on a quarterly basis and PRN
• Monitor weight records weekly and identify and document information concerning significant weight changes
• Document monthly and PRN on residents who have ongoing pressure injuries
• Attend Resident Care, Dining Skills, and QAPI meetings when requested
• Communicate resident assessed needs, dislikes, and nutrition interventions to the Nutrition Services Supervisor
• Implement care plans as defined by interdisciplinary team. Write progress notes based on care plan needs
• Conduct monthly QAPI audits
• Complete RD referral forms

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Graduate of a 2 year Dietetic Technician or a 4 year Dietetic program, and eligible to become registered or licensed. Must be mentally alert, and able to read, write, and understand English. Must understand geriatric resident requirements and special needs. Must have planning/organizational abilities, and basic computer skills. Must have sound knowledge of all facets of the dietary department and be able to prepare and present in-service programs.
