Job Description

Position Summary: The Digital Solutions Manager - Web Optimization role will be called Optimization Specialist internally at The C2 Group. The Optimization Specialist plays a critical role in delivering ongoing subscription support services for clients through the Optimization Service. Specialists partner closely with clients to ensure that their business goals are understood, translated into actionable initiatives, and realized through measurable outcomes. This role is both consultative and execution-focused, requiring a strong ability to collaborate across teams, identify opportunities for improvement, and apply Optimization Service processes and standards.

The Optimization Specialist contributes billable expertise in areas such as content management systems, analytics, experimentation, and user experience enhancements. By combining strategic insight with hands-on delivery, Specialists help clients continually optimize their digital platforms, maximize adoption, and achieve sustainable results through C2's Optimization support packages.

Success in this role requires the ability to partner directly with clients, manage competing priorities, and provide value-driven insights that connect service delivery with broader business objectives.

The C2 Group is located in Grand Rapids, Michigan. We support a flexible and remote work environment. Our preference for this position will be candidates located in the Midwest, allowing for occasional trips to Grand Rapids.

Accountabilities of the Optimization Specialist:

  • Partner with clients to align services, goals, and business objectives
    • Build trusted relationships with client stakeholders to understand organizational goals and challenges.
    • Participate in discovery conversations to clarify priorities and define success criteria.
    • Recommend strategies that align Optimization Service capabilities with measurable business outcomes.
  • Translate client needs into actionable initiatives and suggest improvements
    • Gather requirements from client conversations and documentation.
    • Convert client requests into defined, billable tasks that can be executed across teams.
    • Proactively identify areas where enhancements, efficiencies, or new features can provide value.
  • Coordinate across teams to align priorities and resources
    • Collaborate with UX, Development, Adoption, and Analytics team members to ensure work is scoped and delivered effectively.
    • Actively participate in internal planning sessions to keep efforts aligned with client priorities.
    • Ensure handoffs and communication between teams are clear, reducing delays or rework.
  • Identify risks and optimization opportunities across products and service offerings
    • Monitor client platforms to detect potential risks, gaps, or inefficiencies.
    • Surface opportunities for improvement in content management, analytics, and user experiences.
    • Provide insights that highlight both short-term fixes and long-term optimization paths.
  • Follow Optimization Service processes and standards
    • Adhere to established workflows, documentation practices, and service delivery standards.
    • Ensure time entry, communication, and reporting are consistent with Optimization Service expectations.
    • Promote best practices in how work is tracked, delivered, and measured.
  • Deliver insights that tie Optimization Service efforts to goals and success metrics
    • Track the impact of delivered work against defined success criteria.
    • Prepare and share reporting that connects Optimization Service efforts to client objectives.
    • Use data-driven insights to guide future recommendations and highlight the value of Optimization Service delivery.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree specializing in business with a technical discipline, IT, computer science or equivalent work experience
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in a related field
  • Two (2) or more years of experience leading a team of direct reports
  • Experience with client strategic account-based planning
