Description
The Director of Data Management is a vital, newly created leadership role that will shape the future of how our brand manages, governs, and leverages data as a strategic asset. This individual will define and execute our enterprise-wide data strategy, setting the standards and governance that ensure data is trusted, secure, and actionable across the organization.
Leading and mentoring a team of skilled data professionals, this role will build the essential capabilities for data governance, quality, architecture, privacy, and operations that are foundational to our growth and innovation. In addition to safeguarding our data ecosystem, the Director will drive forward-thinking initiatives-from acquiring new data sources to implementing emerging technologies that fuel smarter decisions and unlock new opportunities.
This critical position will be instrumental in establishing the data-driven culture and infrastructure that will support Arhaus's growth for years to come.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of data management professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and coaching to ensure the team's success
- Develop and implement a data management strategy that aligns with the Company's overall business objectives
- Develop and implement data management processes and procedures to ensure data quality, integrity, and security
- Lead a team to cleanse existing product master data, including implementing changes to organization structure, roles and responsibilities to ensure clear accountabilities for product data governance
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team
- Ensure the Company's data management practices align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements
- Assessing system performance and making recommendations for hardware, software, and data storage improvements
- Develop and maintain key relationships with key functions including, Finance, IT, Legal, Product Development, Retail Operations, Buying, Sourcing, Logistics and HR
- Support ad-hoc projects as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in data analytics or related areas
- 7+ years of data governance experience, including quality management, security, and privacy
- 5+ years of experience in people management, with a proven track record of leading high-performing teams
- Proven track record in leading through influence, ability to drive cross-functional complex data projects in a fast-paced and high-intensity environment
- Outstanding presentation, reporting and communication skills
- Must have a high level of ethics, integrity, judgment, and confidentiality
