Position Summary:

The Director of Business Relationship Management (BRM) and Governance serves as the strategic liaison between the IT organization and business units to ensure technology initiatives align with organizational goals and priorities. This role partners with business leaders to understand current and future needs, translate them into IT strategy, and guide the prioritization of projects and resources. They facilitate communication and collaboration across teams to drive value realization from IT investments and ensure technology solutions support business growth and operational excellence. The Director of BRM also oversees the organization's data governance efforts, ensuring data is managed as a strategic asset through consistent standards, effective stewardship, and compliance with privacy and security requirements. Additionally, this role manages relationships with external technology partners to ensure quality delivery, alignment with standards, and continuous improvement.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary liaison between IT and assigned business units, fostering strong partnerships to ensure technology initiatives align with business goals and priorities.
  • Collaborate with business and IT leadership to define and execute IT strategy, manage demand, and prioritize projects and resources across functional areas.
  • Translate business needs into clear IT requirements, guiding feasibility assessments, solution evaluations, and technology roadmap planning.
  • Lead overall program management for key technology initiatives, collaborating with business management, project team members, and vendors to achieve optimal business outcomes.
  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of IT governance, data management, and performance frameworks to ensure compliance, quality, and alignment with company standards.
  • Manage processes, priorities, decisions, risks, and issues across the IT-business domain, escalating and resolving as appropriate.
  • Oversee budget planning and resource allocation for IT initiatives within assigned business areas, ensuring cost-effectiveness and value realization.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and coaching to the BRM and Governance team, fostering professional growth and accountability for results.
  • Partner with external technology vendors and service providers to ensure successful delivery and alignment with business objectives.
  • Champion continuous improvement, innovation, and "Lean Business Enterprise" principles to optimize processes and eliminate inefficiencies.
  • Stay informed on relevant regulatory, legal, privacy, and security requirements to ensure IT solutions meet organizational and compliance standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of IT and business objectives.

Position Requirements (Knowledge and Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree in IS, Engineering, Computing, or related field required; Master's degree preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of delivering innovative and pragmatic solutions
  • 7+ years of previous business operations and data governance experience
  • 10+ years of relevant professional industry experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Strong business and functional knowledge of enterprise systems including ERP, CRM, HRIS; experience with Oracle Fusion and Salesforce preferred
  • Experience with manufacturing systems (MES, PLM, QMS) a plus
  • Experience with vendor selection and technology selection processes
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Project management experience (relevant PMP, Six Sigma, LEAN certifications a plus)
  • Previous people management experience
  • Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job as described to you for the position
