Job Summary
The Director of Talent Assessments is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of Medline’s enterprise-wide talent assessment strategy. This role leads the creation and execution of assessment tools and processes for both internal and external candidates, with a near-term focus on officer-level (VP+) selection and development. The Director partners closely with HR and business leaders to ensure assessments are aligned with organizational goals, provide measurable ROI, and support data-driven talent decisions. This role also facilitates executive debriefs and development sessions, ensuring insights are translated into actionable development plans.Job Description
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Assessment Strategy & Roadmap
- Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive talent assessment strategy aligned with Medline’s business priorities.
- Prioritize assessment initiatives based on organizational impact, business need, and ROI.
- Establish governance and standards for assessment use across the employee lifecycle.
Executive Assessment & Development
- Design and implement robust assessment processes for officer-level (VP+) selection and development.
- Facilitate individual assessment debriefs with hiring managers, recruiters, and HRBPs.
- Conduct development-focused feedback sessions with senior leaders to support growth and succession planning.
Assessment Design & Implementation
- Build and maintain a suite of validated assessment tools (e.g., cognitive, personality, simulations, 360s) for selection and development.
- Ensure assessments are fair, legally defensible, and aligned with Medline’s leadership competencies.
- Partner with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure high-quality delivery and continuous improvement.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Manage relationships with external assessment providers, ensuring quality, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate with Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, HRBPs, and People Analytics to integrate assessments into broader talent processes.
Data & Insights
- Leverage assessment data to inform talent decisions, succession planning, and leadership development.
- Develop and report on key metrics to evaluate the effectiveness and impact of assessment programs.MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Master’s degree in I/O Psychology, human resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or related field (PhD preferred)
Certification / Licensure
- None required.
Work Experience
- Minimum of 8 years of experience designing and implementing talent assessment and selection systems.
- Demonstrated success in executive-level assessment and development.
- Experience managing vendor relationships and leading cross-functional initiatives.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Deep expertise in psychometrics, validation, and legal compliance of assessments.
- Strong executive presence and facilitation skills.
- Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for senior stakeholders.
- Proven ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Strong leadership skills to guide and inspire the HR team and the organization
- Ability to develop and implement long-term strategies that align with the company’s goals
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with all levels of the organization
Preferred Experience
Education
- PhD in industrial / organizational psychology preferred.

The anticipated salary range for this position:
$152,880.00 - $229,320.00 AnnualThe actual salary will vary based on applicant’s location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
