Job Description
We're looking for a Director of Business Development, Amateur Sports to drive revenue across key sport verticals in our fast-growing amateur and youth sports business.

The ideal candidate will be a trusted advisor and a proven seller who wants to stay close to the deal while helping shape how we go to market. You’ll report directly to the VP of Business Development, Amateur Sports, and you’ll be an early, foundational hire with a clear path into leadership as the team scales.
What You’ll Do
- Own full-cycle sales across assigned amateur sports verticals to sell our core solutions: ticketing, scheduling/registration, and travel.
- Close new National Governing Bodies, Tournament Operators, Leagues, and Competitive Travel Clubs
- Architect and close complex, multi-product partnerships that deliver long-term value for customers and drive durable revenue growth for Fastbreak.
- Build and manage a pipeline of qualified opportunities, using CRM tools and sales best practices to track progress and forecast accurately.
- Be the go-to GTM expert for your sports, and collaborate with marketing and product to tailor messaging, influence roadmap decisions, and improve our go-to-market strategy for your verticals.
- Represent Fastbreak at key industry events and conferences, tournaments, and industry meetings
- Play a hands-on role in developing talent, sharing best practices, and helping new sellers find their footing fast.
Requirements
- 10+ years of sports technology sales or business development experience.
- Demonstrated passion for the craft of selling, with deep personal ownership of targets and an internal drive to outperform them.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity and building while selling.
- Proven track record in sales, and strong potential as a sales leader and manager.
- Self-starter mentality. You’re proactive, resourceful and thrive in a fast-moving startup environment where you have the autonomy to be your best.
- Long-term strategic thinker. You're a builder who thinks beyond single deals and cares about repeatability and value.
- Strong consultative selling skills and comfort navigating sales cycles with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience in sports, ticketing, events, travel, payments, SaaS, or marketplaces preferred
Location
- Can work from our HQ in Charlotte, North Carolina.
- Remote or hybrid environments available for the right candidate.
- Must be able to travel to sales meetings and events.
