Overview
Join a nationally recognized acute care hospital serving Central Kentucky for over 40 years. As Director of Emergency Services, you’ll lead a 28-bed Level III Trauma Center that manages 35,000–45,000 annual visits. This role offers the opportunity to shape emergency care excellence in a 173-bed facility known for clinical quality, engaged leadership, and a collaborative culture.
Responsibilities
Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Emergency Department.
Ensure delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care consistent with evidence-based standards.
Oversee daily operations, staffing, and patient throughput to maintain efficiency and safety.
Monitor department performance metrics and implement quality improvement initiatives.
Manage department budgets, labor resources, and equipment utilization.
Collaborate with physicians and administrative leadership to expand and optimize services.
Develop and coach high-performing teams through mentorship, feedback, and engagement.
Lead compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and safety standards.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and service excellence.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN).
Active RN license (Compact or Kentucky).
3+ years of progressive emergency services leadership in an acute care hospital.
Demonstrated success improving ED metrics (throughput, LWBS, patient satisfaction, etc.).
Preferred:
Master’s Degree (MSN, MHA, or MBA).
Experience managing a 30+ bed Emergency Department with 30K+ annual visits.
Proven record of leading teams through growth or performance turnaround initiatives.
