Director of Nursing (DON) – RN Grand Islander Center – Middletown, RI 1st Shift | 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM 7-Week Contract $2,600 per week 40 Hours Guaranteed Position Overview Grand Islander Center is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) – RN for a 7-week contract assignment. The DON is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and clinical oversight of the Nursing Department to ensure high-quality resident care, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence within a skilled nursing facility setting. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong nursing leader with prior long-term care management experience. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Administration Direct, plan, and oversee all nursing services within the facility Supervise RNs, LPNs, and CNAs Ensure adequate staffing levels and scheduling coverage Collaborate with the Administrator and interdisciplinary team Conduct staff performance evaluations and provide coaching Clinical Oversight Ensure delivery of high-quality, resident-centered care Oversee care planning process and MDS coordination Monitor infection control practices and safety standards Address clinical concerns from residents and families Compliance & Quality Assurance Maintain compliance with CMS, federal, and Rhode Island state regulations Lead survey readiness and manage corrective action plans if needed Ensure accurate and timely documentation Oversee quality improvement initiatives Minimum Requirements Education Graduate of an accredited nursing program Associate Degree in Nursing required BSN preferred Licensure Active, Registered Nurse (RN) license in Rhode Island or Compact BLS ACLS Experience Minimum 2 years of prior Director of Nursing (DON) or Assistant DON experience required At least 2 years of clinical nursing experience in long-term care or skilled nursing facility Strong knowledge of CMS regulations and survey process Required Skills Leadership and team management Regulatory compliance knowledge Staffing and workforce planning Strong communication and conflict resolution MDS and care planning oversight Quality improvement and risk management Schedule & Compensation 1st Shift (8:00 AM – 4:00 PM) 40 hours guaranteed 7-week contract $2,600 weekly pay Why Apply?
