Director of Pharmacy
Position: Full-TimeLocation: Berkeley, CASalary: $187,000 – $210,000 per yearSchedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Job Summary: We’re looking for a Director of Pharmacy to lead our onsite pharmacy at a busy community health clinic. You’ll oversee daily operations, guide a collaborative team, and ensure our patients receive the highest level of service and medication safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, direct, and evaluate all pharmacy operations while ensuring compliance and service quality
- Develop and maintain pharmacy policies and procedures in accordance with state and federal laws
- Supervise, train, and evaluate pharmacy staff to promote continuous professional growth
- Manage departmental budgets, contracts, and grants to support cost-effective operations
- Oversee medication procurement, storage, and dispensing of pharmaceuticals and controlled substances
- Serve as a consultant to clinical providers on medication therapy, formulary updates, and safety protocols
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, infection control, and organizational ethics policies
Represent the department in leadership meetings and professional forums
Requirements
- PharmD or BPharm degree
- Active California Pharmacist License
- Proven management or supervisory experience in a pharmacy setting
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations and clinical best practices
