Director of Pharmacy
Position: Full-TimeSalary: $187,000 – $210,000 per yearSchedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PMLocation: Emeryville, CA
Job Summary:We are hiring a Director of Pharmacy to oversee and elevate the operations of our onsite pharmacy within a community health setting. This position plays a key role in ensuring medication safety, operational efficiency, and collaboration across our clinical departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, direct, and evaluate all pharmacy operations while ensuring compliance and service quality
- Develop and maintain pharmacy policies and procedures in accordance with state and federal laws
- Supervise, train, and evaluate pharmacy staff to promote continuous professional growth
- Manage departmental budgets, contracts, and grants to support cost-effective operations
- Oversee medication procurement, storage, and dispensing of pharmaceuticals and controlled substances
- Serve as a consultant to clinical providers on medication therapy, formulary updates, and safety protocols
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, infection control, and organizational ethics policies
Represent the department in leadership meetings and professional forums
Requirements
- PharmD or BPharm degree
- Active California Pharmacist License
- Proven management or supervisory experience in a pharmacy setting
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations and clinical best practices
