POSITION PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
The Director of Pharmacy ensures that pharmacy operations meet all regulatory requirements and uphold the mission, policies, and standards of Riveon Mental Health and Recovery. This leader develops and maintains procedures that promote efficient workflow, exceptional service delivery, and safe medication practices. The Director of Pharmacy will report to the Chief Executive Officer and in close collaboration with the Chief Medical Officer.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Operational Leadership
- Oversees daily pharmacy operations, ensuring timely, accurate, and patient-centered medication dispensing.
- Develops and maintains workflows that support high-quality, high-value pharmacy services.
- Ensures compliance with state and federal regulations, accreditation standards, and internal policies.
- Leads staff through operational changes, new initiatives, and process improvements.
- Collaborates with leadership and senior leadership team in a manner that is self-driven and focus on integration and innovation
- Participate in interdepartmental initiatives and organizational planning
Performance Metrics & Quality Improvement
- Analyzes pharmacy performance data, including financial indicators, customer service metrics, prescription volume, and workflow efficiency.
- Identifies trends, operational gaps, and opportunities for improvement, implementing data-driven strategies to enhance performance.
- Establishes and monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) related to accuracy, wait times, patient satisfaction, refill compliance and medication safety.
- Conducts regular performance reviews and provides coaching to support staff development.
Inventory, Access, and Sustainability
- Manages pharmacy asset protection and oversees inventory management to ensure optimal inventory levels and minimize waste.
- Implements sustainable practices related to purchasing, storage, and disposal of medications and supplies.
- Ensures consistent access to essential medications, including strategies to reduce barriers for underserved or high-risk populations.
- Collaborates with suppliers, payers, and internal teams to maintain cost-effective procurement and improve medication affordability.
- Oversee prior authorization workflows for Riveon Pharmacy clients
- In collaboration with the Chief Financial Officer, manage the pharmacy financial operations including billing, revenue generation, reimbursement systems, budget margins and contract/payer source enrollment.
Innovation & Workflow Optimization
- Designs and implements innovative workflows that enhance efficiency, reduce errors, and support a positive patient experience.
- Evaluates and integrates new technologies, automation tools, and digital solutions to streamline operations.
- Encourages staff participation in continuous improvement initiatives and pilots new service models that expand pharmacy capabilities.
- Develops and refines procedures that support clinical services, medication therapy management, and patient education.
- Support programmatic development across non-pharmacy departments
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
In order to perform the essential functions of this job, after an orientation period, the employee must possess the following: a working knowledge of Riveon Mental Health and Recovery Policy and Procedures, including sensitivity and adherence to clients' rights, confidentiality, and health and safety issues. Must exhibit sensitivity to different cultures. Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- All time is spent in an office environment and involves substantial client contact.
- The individual must be able to speak and communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.
- Due to the amount of paperwork that is required, the individual must have excellent documentation skills.
- The employee will likely be required to stand for extended periods and will spend a portion of their time on the telephone.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, walk, and lift and push minimal loads at various times.
- A considerable amount of time may also be spent working on a computer so the employee should have close vision ability.
- In addition, the individual must be able to operate basic office equipment.

Requirements
REQUIREMENTS/ QUALIFICATIONS
- Active Ohio Pharmacist License in good standing.
- Minimum of 5 years of pharmacy management experience, preferably outpatient healthcare setting (preferred)
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to respond effectively in dynamic environments.
- Demonstrated leadership ability, including guiding teams through organizational change.
- Commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care and operational excellence.
- Experience with PioneerRx pharmacy software
- Prior experience in a behavioral health, SUD, community health, or integrated care setting
