Job Description

The Director of Sales (Financial Services) is responsible for developing and executing national sales strategies, leading and coaching both established sellers and new hires, driving Stratus CRM adoption and pipeline discipline, ensuring regulatory adherence, and partnering with regional sales leaders to expand relationships and cross selling across the country. This role supports two advisor segments: Retirement Plan and Wealth Management.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement national sales strategies to meet revenue and growth targets for Financial Services; build segment specific channel plans and lead expansion into new markets.
  • Lead and coach an established team of sellers, driving activity to current standards (Stratus updates, pipeline hygiene, and performance cadence).
  • Hire, onboard, and mentor new sales professionals, creating a structured development program that rapidly lifts productivity.
  • Drive adoption of Stratus CRM for opportunity management, activity logging, and policy visibility; enforce data quality and pipeline stage integrity.
  • Partner with regional sales leaders to deepen relationships, align go to market plans, and activate cross selling opportunities across IAS segments (CRMG, EBG, PRM).
  • Manage key client and partner relationships; identify and execute upsell and cross sell pathways across Financial Services solutions.
  • Establish and track sales KPIs (pipeline hygiene, stage conversion, win rate, velocity, bookings, retention); provide performance feedback, coaching, and remediation plans.
  • Ensure full compliance with FINRA/SEC rules, firm policies, and broker dealer supervision requirements; collaborate with Compliance and Operations on oversight and remediation.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Sales Enablement, and Operations to improve proposal quality, content usage, sales assets, and enablement programs.
  • Maintain market awareness (competitors, product innovation, regulatory changes) and adjust strategy and training plans accordingly.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Strong leadership skills with proven ability to manage, coach, and uplevel high performing sales teams.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) with executive presence and ability to influence cross functional stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; fluency in pipeline metrics, forecasting, and performance diagnostics.
  • Expertise in developing and executing sales strategies tied to measurable KPIs and revenue outcomes.
  • In depth knowledge of FINRA/SEC regulations, broker dealer supervision standards, and firm compliance policies.
  • Proficiency driving Stratus CRM adoption and data quality standards; comfortable with sales technology stacks and reporting.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across segments and regions to achieve organizational goals and activate cross selling.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and mobile productivity tools.
  • Must demonstrate core values, exuding behavior aligned with the firm's culture.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • 7-10 years of experience in Financial Services or insurance sales, including at least 5 years in a leadership role driving multiregional sales outcomes.
  • Demonstrated success leading both established sellers and early career talent through structured onboarding and coaching programs.

LICENSING & COMPLIANCE

  • Active FINRA licensure required (e.g., Series 7 and Series 66 or Series 6/63/65).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain firm registration(s) and adhere to all broker dealer, supervisory, and continuing education requirements.

SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS

  • National role with periodic travel to regional offices, client sites, and industry events.
  • Preferred location is Bethesda (MD), Jacksonville or Greater Tampa Bay area
