About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Dispatcher to join our team in a unique position that combines ambulance and Mobile Integrated Healthcare (MIH) dispatching. This is a night shift role where you'll work closely with a small, highly experienced team. With only 1-2 staff on duty at night, this role is ideal for someone who thrives working independently, is detail-oriented, and can handle responsibility with confidence.

  • 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM or 7:00 PM-7:00 AM (36 hours/week, 3 shifts) Fixed Days

Job Summary

What You'll Do

  • Receive and prioritize emergency and non-emergency calls from hospitals, patients, and healthcare providers.
  • Coordinate ambulance and MIH services by dispatching appropriate personnel and resources.
  • Accurately relay critical information, including patient details, locations, and call nature.
  • Collaborate with and follow up with MIH team members to ensure continuity of care and proper communication.
  • Input, track, and update mobile healthcare call data in real time.
  • Monitor response times and follow up on exceptions.
  • Maintain accurate dispatch logs and prepare reports for review.
  • Serve as a liaison between facilities, providers, and the healthcare team.

Qualifications

What We're Looking For

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; additional certifications/diplomas preferred.
  • Experience: 1-2 years in emergency dispatching, EMS, or a related field strongly preferred. MIH experience strongly preferred.
  • Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to multi-task and stay calm under pressure.
  • Proficiency with dispatch software, GPS, and communication tools.
  • Sound problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the broader team.
