Description
The Dock Worker is responsible for the movement, organization, and preparation of materials for shipping and receiving. This role primarily involves handling products by hand, stacking boxes, labeling items, and loading or unloading trucks. The Dock Worker ensures that materials are staged efficiently and safely, helping maintain smooth workflow throughout the warehouse.
POSITION DETAILS
- Shift Times: Mon-Fri; 7am-3:30pm
- Pay Schedule: Weekly
- Pay: $15.00/hr
- This position starts as a seasonal opportunity for up to 90 days, regular full-time employment is subject to performance & company needs.
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Demonstrate the Core Values of Comfort Research in daily actions, execution of tasks and interactions with others.
- Safely move incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring that items are handled carefully to prevent damage, and that loading/unloading is completed efficiently to meet operational schedules.
- Arrange materials in an orderly and accessible manner, maintaining proper inventory placement, and ensuring easy retrieval for production, shipping, or inventory checks.
- Apply correct labels to all items to maintain inventory accuracy, support quality control, and ensure compliance with shipping or internal tracking requirements.
- Prepare and position materials in designated areas based on work orders or production schedules, ensuring materials are ready when needed and minimizing delays in workflow.
- Follow safety guidelines and company protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintain efficiency in production processes to help meet daily output goals.
- Perform housekeeping duties to ensure the safety and cleanliness of the work area.
- Cross-train on various warehouse functions and rotate through tasks as needed to support operational flexibility.
- Support the Production team in shared goals and initiatives.

Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Prior warehouse or material handling experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move boxes and materials.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Ability to read and understand job aids and other instructional materials printed in English preferred.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Ability to move and manipulate products/materials weighing up to 50 pounds, involving frequent twisting, lifting, turning, and bending.
- Ability to continuously pull, push, and tug materials.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
