Job Description

OETA seeks an experienced visual and written script storyteller to join its award-winning arts and culture documentary program, "Gallery America".

Must be able to shoot and edit long-form segments with a heavy emphasis on artistic videography, use of natural sound, and creative editing techniques using professional broadcast cameras and non-linear editing programs

Preferred candidate will also be able to write creative scripts as needed on a project-by-project basis as well as work with team members and supervisors to provide and receive input throughout process.

Projected work assignments may require some in-state and occasional overnight travel.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Recording moving videos and still images in the field by operating Sony Cinema cameras.
  • Edit on Adobe Premier.
  • Posting content, including video, audio, text and still images to station website and other platforms.
  • Maintain equipment in proper working condition.
  • Work independently and as part of a team.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Successful completion of formal education in photojournalism, cinematography, or equivalent training and/or job-related work experience.
  • Work experience with ENG video recording equipment required.
  • Experience with Avid non-linear editing system or other non-linear system required.
  • Understanding visual storytelling with effective pictures, lighting, and audio.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to manage time to meet project deadlines.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to shoot and edit with speed and creativity.
  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs.
  • Ability to do photography and reporting that requires mobility in variety of indoor and outdoor locations exposed to prevalent weather conditions and terrain.
  • Ability to travel long distances in state vehicle with some overnight travel possible.
  • Expenses will be reimbursed at rates provided by Oklahoma law.
  • Ability to produce high-quality content across all platforms on deadline.

COMPENSATION:

  • $35,000 to $45,000
