Job Description
KTS develops complex, cutting-edge aircraft avionics hardware and software solutions supporting digital interoperability, survivability, situational awareness, and data collection. We have a proven track record of delivering high quality products throughout the defense industry. KTS is seeking an experienced drafter / designer to support the engineering team creating new designs and maintaining existing products. This is a full-time position at the KTS facility in Des Plaines, IL.Responsibilities:
- Model fully designed components/assemblies and create/revise drawings in accordance with ASME standards
- Design minor components or portions of major systems and modify existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations
- Work from engineering notes, sketches, redlines, and/or preliminary drawings to create or modify designs
- Work with multiple organizations in the company to include, but not limited to, engineering, quality and operations/manufacturing
- Review work to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Associate’s degree in applicable field
- Minimum of four years of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) experience
- Ability to parametrically model fully defined components and assemblies
- Proficiency with ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), ASME Y14.100 Engineering Drawing Practices, and Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
- Experience with revision control tools
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem solving, and time management skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize Ability to travel (
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance Other Preferred Skills:
- Expertise in PTC Creo
- Experience with wire harness design
- Experience with wire harness routing in electromechanical designs
