Description
POSITION SUMMARY Assists in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. Interviews patients, measures vital signs, (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and records information on patient charts. May be required to draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.
Schedule - Full-time, Days, (Four 10 hr Shifts) - scheduled day off may vary to meet the needs of the clinic
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/REQUIREMENTS
- Screen and prepare patients for examinations by the Provider/Physician
- Provide specific treatments ordered by Physician/Provider (i.e. ear irrigation)
- Advises patient of appropriate care when they call with medical questions
- Assist physician/provider with office procedures (i.e. suturing of lacerations: removal of cysts)
- Maintains accurate, legible patient records reports and any other documents
- Maintains and stocks adequate inventories of supplies and equipment in exam rooms and nursing stations
- Keep exam room stocked and cleaned after each patient
- Cleans and sterilize instruments daily.
- Performs diagnostic procedures as ordered by provider/physician
- Assist Medical Records by preparing and sending copies of appropriate patient medical records to other agencies.
- Demonstrates proficiency in administering injections to patients of all age groups
- Triage Walk-In Patients as necessary
- May float to other physicians as requested
- May function as phone Nurse as requested such as monitor incoming patient calls and respond to and log as appropriate.
Qualifications
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Graduation from CMA or LPN program
- Currently Certified Medical Assistant or LPN in the state of Idaho
- 6 to 12 months experience in clinic preferred. Must have thorough knowledge of principles, methods and techniques necessary to perform general nursing services for ambulatory patients.
- BLS required
- Must have advanced interpersonal skills and communication skills both verbal and written.
- Previous experience working with online record keeping systems, preferably Nexgen or Meditech. Must have basic computer skills to operate online systems, email and online record keeping.
