Job Description

Job Summary: The role of an In-Room Dining & Resort Attendant is vital in providing exceptional service to our guests by delivering food and beverage orders directly to their rooms, retrieving the deliveries once the guests are finished, as well as operating the resort's complimentary beverage program. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering high-quality service.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Receive and review food and beverage orders from guests, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare and assemble food and beverage orders according to established standards and recipes.
  • Coordinate with the kitchen and other staff members to ensure timely delivery of orders to guest rooms.
  • Deliver orders to guest rooms promptly and courteously, ensuring that all items are presented professionally.
  • Set up trays, tables and other dining equipment in guest rooms as needed.
  • Provide friendly and attentive service to guests, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in all work areas, including storage areas, and service stations.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure the health and well-being of guests and staff.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned by management to support the overall operation of the dining department.
  • Prepare, maintain, serve, and breakdown a complimentary beverage station that will be available to guests of The Pearl Hotel from 8am- 11am and from 4pm- 7pm (depending on shift).
  • Prepare and deliver all amenity orders (both complimentary and purchased).
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Previous experience as a server preferred
  • Must successfully complete food safety, alcohol & job training.
  • Sufficient education and literacy needed to identify and read product labels and to communicate with guests about job-related needs

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of special diets to ensure safety of guests when ordering food
  • Knowledge of Forbes standards as they pertain to service operations and efficiency, entry into a guest room, in room dining table setup and presentation, name usage, and guest communications.
  • Basic knowledge of rooms and suites- Floor layouts and room types
  • Basic Knowledge of Spirits, Beer, Wine & Beverages
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Well-organized with ability to take and place food and beverage orders accordingly
  • Ability to operate point-of-sale systems
  • Detail-oriented and thorough
  • Ability to remain discreet and respect the privacy of guests
  • Ability to perform consistent work to the highest standards
  • Ability to interact with guests in a pleasant, friendly way
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple guests at a time

Physical Demands:

  • Standing for extended periods, walking, bending, kneeling and stooping.
  • Must be able to lift 25lbs.
  • Must be able to safely deliver food and drinks on different surfaces

Working Conditions:

  • Exposure to slippery surfaces and stairs depending on location
  • Indoor and/or outdoor
  • Exposure to extreme heat and cold depending on season and location
